Indore: Good planning takes Emerald Heights to Heritage Quiz win

15 city schools take part in competition; six make it to final round.

Do you know who were felicitated with 110kgs of pure ghee for their extraordinary performance in sports and by whom?

The answer is: Our sportsmen who gave a phenomenal performance in the Common Wealth Games of 2010 were awarded 110 kgs of pure ghee by the Haryana government.

The question may seem a hard to answer to many even in the sports but to these young boys and girls , this was just one another fact to them.

Such was the level and fun of the quiz held on the rich heritage of India at the DPS on Tuesday in which 15 schools of the city, affiliated to the CBSE competed to crack the Indore chapter of the quiz. Emerald Heights won the quiz. The elimination round that started with regular quizzing witnessed 15 schools out of which only six made it to the on-phase or the final quizzing round.
"Planning the strategy within the quiz is the key to win," claimed the excited trio- Vibhor Kedia, Oishee Dey and Bhagirathi Iyer of Emerald Heights School.

Giving a tough competition to the winning team- Team E of Vidya Bhavan Public School admitted of having fallen short of strategizing for the quiz as they lost to Team D for having hit the buzzer late. Nonetheless the heritage quiz which ran up to six hours was a joy ride for both the participants as well as the audience. In addition to the questions, the credit as much as goes to quiz master Magashyam Shirodkar whose wits was at its ever best as he used everything from witty punches, gifts, humour and sharing trivia with the audience.

The schools that entered the finale of India Heritage Quiz Indore chapter include Shri Satya Sai Vidya Vihar (6th rank), Shishukunj Interntaional (5th rank), New Digamber Public School and Saint Paul Convent School (4th or 3rd rank each), Vidya Bhavan Public School (2nd rank) and Emerald Heights (1st rank).

The schools that participated in the elimination round include SICA School, Advanced Academy, National Public School, DPS, Army School, Mhow, Choithram School, North Campus and Choithram School, South Campus.
