Indore: Bajaj Electricals to join govt's save tiger campaign

Company to use state-of-the-art gadgets to counter poaching menace.

After illuminating thousands of houses in Madhya Pradesh, home appliances major Bajaj Electricals would now join hands with the state government in tiger conservation campaign.

Talking to media persons here on Thursday, company’s Joint Managing Director Anant Bajaj said that the company’s endeavours in tiger conservation in Madhya Pradesh would be part of the Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. He was in the city as part of celebrations on completion of company’s 75 years.

“We have strategic partnership with Securiton, a group company of Securitas of Switzerland and we will rope in state-of-the-art gadgets manufactured by our partner for countering the poaching menace,” Bajaj said.

“We have specially designed lights which are generally not visible to the person standing opposite to the light but the expert sitting in the control room could clearly see the person (poacher) even in darkness with help of this light,” the JMD claimed.

We also have modern security alarm systems and tracking devices, which could be handy in protecting tigers against poachers’ menace, he added. All these gadgets are part of Integrated Building Management Systems (IBMS), adopted by the company for the security and energy consciousness of commercial establishments.

Bajaj personally is an ardent wildlife fan and has been associated to activities of reputed organisations like WWF, Beauty without Cruelty, Friends of Ridley and environment watchdog Greenpeace.    

He said that the company was in consultation with the state government for contributing in the conservation of the India’s iconic animal tiger, which is a national asset and should be protected.
The company would also help in environment conservation by ensuring power supply through monopoles which consume much less space, are cost effective and due to extra height of these poles, not a single tree is required to be cut while power is supplied through forest areas, Bajaj said.  

The company also has organised blood donation camps in Indore and other regions, as part of CSR initiatives.

Company  inks pact with civic body

The company also has inked a pact with Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) for modern illumination task in corporation buildings on turnkey basis in the first phase. This includes wiring, fixing and maintenance tasks. In the second phase, the company would undertake projects of transmission lines.
