Indo-Japanese forum demands probe into Netaji's death

An Indo-Japanese forum on Tuesday demanded an extensive probe by India into the 'mysterious' death of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and said it should take assistance from Russia, the US and Japan in this regard.

NSCB Indo-Japan Organisation also announced setting up of a memorial to honour the freedom fighter in Japan's Nikko city.

Two Japanese farmers have also given two hectares of land free of cost to construct the memorial in Nikko city. It is being built by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Memorial Indo- Japan Organisation in association with the Indo-Japan Cultural Association, Nikko.

Nikko is a small city in Japan's Tochigi Prefecture in the mountains, north of Tokyo.

Congratulating the government for declassifying Netaji's files, Balasaheb Deshmukh, the founder of the NSCB Indo-Japan Organisation, said, "We also appeal to the Government of India to investigate Netaji Subhas babu's case of death with the help of America, Russia and Japan thoroughly," The "bhoomi-pujan" for the memorial will start in November this year for which invitation has been extended to BJP President Amit Shah and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. The work on the memorial will be completed in two years, he said.

The memorial will comprise a big hall for cultural activities and well equipped rooms where Indian students can live for sometime. A yoga centre along with a library with literature on Bose will also be there.
