The Indian Navy once again successfully conducted maiden trial firing of newly installed Surface-to-Air missile system from aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya.
The firing was carried out in the Arabian Sea on Wednesday, against a live low flying high speed target.
The firing was conducted as part of the Operational Readiness Inspection.
It's a reappropriated short range SAM system Barak from a front line frigate which got decommissioned recently.
The missile marks a significant milestone in providing Air Interception and Defence capabilities and enhancing operational capabilities of the Indian Navy's aircraft carrier and the fleet.
