A fresh incursion by China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) has been reported in Demchok in Southern Ladakh.

The incident occurred on Monday, July 28, where the Chinese military and soldiers of the Indo-Tibetan border Police (ITBP) faced-off in a verbal argument that lasted about half an hour, sources said. The Chinese military then withdrew.

This incident is different from a previous incursion by Chinese forces, where it was reported that Chinese herdsmen had pitched tents in the Demchok area along the Line of Actual Control. They withdrew after talks between the two sides. According to reports, the Indian army had denied that this incursion took place.
