After raising his voice against Indian Army's Sahayak (Orderly) system, a soldier named Roy Mathew, was found dead in a barrack in Deolali Cantonment, Maharashtra.

According to a News18 reportthe Army said that the 33-year-old jawan who hailed from Kerala had committed suicide and was also believed to be "mentally disturbed".

Mathew was seen in a sting operation on February 24, criticising the British-era 'Sahayak' system. After this, he went missing and was marked Absent Without Leave (AWL) on record. It was also reported that he had spoken to his wife the day the sting was aired saying he was under stress, and had also sent an SMS apology to his officer.

Since Mathew's face was blurred in the video, his unit was reportedly not aware that he featured in it.
