The Indian Army?s Konark Corps have deployed rescue columns in flood affected districts of Barmer, Pali and Jalore district of Rajasthan.

Thereby, the Indian Army, in last 24 hours, has rescued 59 people fighting for life amidst raging flood waters.

As the teams were rescuing the affected persons in Sayla village, district administration officials were informed of an old lady stranded alone on a tree top in raging waters. The army column instantaneously deployed additional personnel and equipment and successfully rescued the old lady.

The Army columns also recovered vehicles along road Ahor-Dhansana.

The Indian Army has provided first aid, medicines and water to affected flood victims.

Another Army team was pressed into rescue in Barmer district which rescued 21 people in co-ordination with the NDRF team.

Prevailing weather conditions are being monitored and additional troops of the Konark Corps have been kept in state of readiness to respond swiftly and save valuable lives.
