India will not take lying down any border violations by Pakistan and China and will give a befitting reply, Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said. Addressing a series of election meetings in Jharkhand, Singh, "Our neighbours China and Pakistan have been entering our territory very often. China has breached our boundaries whenever it has wanted. Let them enter Indian territory now. We will not take it lying down. We want to maintain cordial ties with our neighbours but if any nation looks eye-to-eye, we will give a befitting reply."

On ceasefire violations by Pakistan, the Home Minister said he had instructed the Border Security Force (BSF) not to display white flags but give a befitting reply. "India had shown Pakistan white flag 16 times during the previous Congress regime. Indian paramilitary forces and the Indian Army need a strong political leadership as their strength has not been realised. I have told BSF to respond adequately to ceasefire violations by Pakistan," Singh said at a rally at Manika in Latehar district of Jharkhand where the first phase of elections will take place on November 25.

Singh said Pakistan has "had to plead before the United Nations for help after India responded to border violations". He said, "Pakistan continued to indulge in ceasefire violations on the border killing Indians but the previous Congress governments continued to ask BSF to show white flags and hold talks. Hit by India's response, Pakistan sought refuge with the UN. What you need is leadership with strong willpower."
