India sees 32,695 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours, recovery rate at 63.25%

As many as 24,914 deaths due to COVID-19 have been reported across the country so far.

India on Thursday witnessed its highest single-day spike of COVID-19 cases with 32,695 cases reported in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

With these fresh cases, India's coronavirus cases tally has gone up to 9,68,876, out of which there are 3,31,146 active cases in the country and 6,12,815 cases have been cured/discharged or migrated.

As many as 24,914 deaths due to COVID-19 have been reported across the country so far.

As per the Union Health Ministry, Maharashtra - the worst affected state due to COVID-19 - has a total of 2,75,640 cases which includes 10,928 deaths. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu, the second worst-affected state, has a total of 1,51,820 cases and 2,167 fatalities. Delhi's tally of coronavirus cases stands at 1,16,993 which is inclusive of 3,487 deaths due to the virus.

The Centre said that the recovery rate has further improved to 63.25 per cent.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has said that 3,26,826 samples were tested on Wednesday. So far, 1,27,39,490 samples have been tested across the country.
