Fifty years after its introduction, India's first condom brand Nirodh, is all set to be rebranded through a a new sensuous packaging, say reports.

The low priced condoms, first launched by Hindustan Latex Ltd under a government initiative as family planning and STD prevention aid, had begun to lose  out to its competitors who had a host of pleasure enhancing products with attractive packaging.

But now the government has decided to 'rebrand' the condom and the emergency pills. A three member committee has been appointed by the Health Ministry to select from a number of attractive images for the packaging provided by an HLL team, the report adds. Images of couple making love or playing the violin together might very will don new Nirodh product packs.

Apart from the rebranding exercise, HLL too plans to get into a wide range of sexual wellness products that includes lubricating gels and lip-shaped vibrating rings, an IANS report said.
