Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has termed the relations with India as ‘marriage made in heaven’ and cleared the air around the United Nations resolution on Jerusalem.

Interestingly, India had voted against the US resolution to recognise Jerusalem as Israeli capital.

In an interview to an Indian news channel, the Israeli Prime Minister said that ‘one vote can’t change the relations with India.’

Though he said that he was ‘disappointed’ that India didn’t support the Jerusalem resolution, yet he added that ‘this visit is a testimony that our relationship is moving on so many fronts.’

On a six-day visit to India, Netanyahu is the second Israeli Prime Minister to visit the country since 2003.

The visiting dignitary, on Monday, will be given a ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhawan which will be followed by the wreath laying at the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi.

Netanyahu will also meet his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi and hold delegation level talks. The two sides will sign agreements and also issue a joint press statement. The Israeli Prime Minister will call on President Ram Nath Kovind later in the day.
