Incumbent DMK Lok Sabha member JK Ritheesh on Thursday switched his loyalties to the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu.

In a statement issued here, the AIADMK said Ritheesh, elected from the Ramanathapuram Lok Sabha constituency in 2009, met party general secretary and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa and formally joined the party.

In 2011, Ritheesh was arrested in a land grab case after the AIADMK came to power in the state.

After joining the AIADMK, Ritheesh predicted a landslide victory for the party in the general election.
