In TMC's extended core committee meeting, party chief and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee lashed out at BJP and warned party members against infighting and complacency ahead of next year's Lok Sabha election.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday called the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) a militant organisation.

"We are not a militant organisation like the BJP. They are creating fights not only among Christians, Muslims but also among Hindus," the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo said.Mamata's statement comes at a time tensions between the two parties are escalating in the state.

Without naming Dilip Ghosh, Mamata Banerjee slammed him. She said, " Someone is calling for encounter. Someone wants to shoot, others want to kill, there are few who are looking to hurl bombs." She further said, " I am telling them to come. Show your strength. So far only you have seen Panchayat. All your guns are because of power in Delhi. What will happen when that goes".

Mamata scolded party workers from districts like Jhargram and Purulia where TMC has done badly in the Panchayat polls and asked them to buck up. She gave a strong warning to people who are 'running parallel organisation' inside TMC and told them they can leave the party if they want to. Mamata also had special message for the trade union wing and the youth wing of the party. She stressed on unity among the workers who are under the TMC banner. For student leaders, she focussed on ensuring discipline among the workers and to maintain a good academic atmosphere in campuses.
