In Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan govt orders students to answer roll call with 'Jai Hind'

Madhya Pradesh government has announced that from now onwards, it is mandatory for the school students in the state to answer their roll-call with 'Jai Hind'.

The education department stated that this step will instil a sense of patriotism among the students, read an official statement.

Earlier in November 2017, Madhya Pradesh School Education Minister Vijay Shah said now students would answer to roll-calls by saying "Jai Hind" instead of "yes sir" and "yes ma'am".

"From now, in government schools during attendance call, students will reply with 'Jai Hind' instead of 'Yes sir' or 'Yes Madam'. This will instil a sense of patriotism among the youth," Shah told reporters here."I don't think anyone will have an objection to it," Shah added.

He had said that the step would be enforced in all 1.22 lakh government schools, and an advisory in this regard would also be issued to all private schools. 

Also on October 1, the Education Minister had passed a similar order for all schools in the state's Satana district. At the time, he had also stated that that if this mission is successful, he would take approval from Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and request to implement this rule all over Madhya Pradesh, whether it's a public school or a private school.
