Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan took the maximum time during his speech this year at the United Nations General assembly. His 50 minutes speech was the longest among over 190 head of states, heads of government and ministers who spoke from the famous green podium at the UNGA in late September during the 74th session of UNGA.

Almost more than half his speech was devoted to Kashmir, which was on expected lines.

The last time a leader spoke this much was Libya's former deposed leader--Muammar al-Gaddafi who spoke for 96 minutes in 2009.

15 minutes is the allotted time for every leader speaking from the UNGA podium and Imran Khan's speech exceeded the time limit by 35 minutes.

The shortest statement was given by Rwanda's President Paul Kagame who spoke for 7 minutes. Indian Prime Minister spoke for 17 minutes, 30 seconds. In 2014, the last time PM Modi addressed the UNGA, the duration of his speech was 34 minutes or approximately half an hour.

Another key fact that came out from the data released by the United Nations was the lack of women leaders at the world stage. While 91.8% of speakers were male, 8.2 % of speakers were women. Of the 81 head of states at the level of President, Kings and Amirs at the UNGA, 76 were men and just 5 were women. At the heads of Government, which is Prime Ministerial level-- 38 were men, and just 4 were women. At Deputy PM Level, only 6 were men and no women were present at that level.

United Nations General Assembly offers an opportunity to world leaders to speak and talk about global issues and is the biggest annual gathering of world leaders anywhere in the world.
