Illegal banners: Case against telecom co, 2 coaching classes

Indore Municipal Corporation on Tuesday registered case against a telecom company and two renowned coaching classes for illegally erecting advertisements banners on government land in different areas of the city.

In a two-day drive IMC team removed around 500 banners of private organisations erected without permission in different parts of the city as an act of for defacing public property.

Following the instructions of IMC deputy commissioner MPS Arora, marketing removal officer Bharatsingh Chouhan lodged a FIR against Star Perfect Agency situated in Annapurna at Bhawarkuan police station. The agency had erected hundred of banners of Airtel Company in Bhawarkuan area.

Chouhan also registered cases against Mastermind Coaching Classes and Stratford Academy at Tukoganj police station for illegally erecting their banners in the area.

“A case under section 3 of Prevention of Defacement of Property (1994) was registered against both the institute. Appropriate actions will be taken in the case” said Tukoganj police station in charge, Manoj Ratnakar.

He said that despite of having several means of advertisements including authorised hoardings and media, such renowned organisations choose to erect banners and posters without proper permission.

“We want to continue with this way even after removal of the model of conduct,” added IMC deputy commissioner MPS Arora.
