Amid ongoing row over Bollywood film Padmaavat, Aam Aadmi Party (APP) convenor and Delhi Chief Minister  Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday mounted an attack on the Central government and asked how they expect investment to flow-in when they can't ensure the release of one movie safely.

The film has been facing protests by the Karni Sena and other fringe groups over allegations that historical facts were distorted in the movie.

"If all state governments', central government and SC together cannot get one movie released and run safely, how can we expect investments to flow in? Forget FDI, even local investors wud feel hesitant," Kejriwal said in a tweet.

He also added that it won't be good for the already dwindling economy. "Bad for jobs," he added.

Protests are taking place in several places in the country demanding the ban on the movie with protesters blocking Delhi-Jaipur highway and Gurgaon's Wazirpur-Pataudi road.

The Karni Sena has called for ‘self-imposed’ ban by people and said they were firm on their demand.

Meanwhile, around 50 supporters of Karni Sena have been detained in different parts of Mumbai and over 40 arrested in Ahmedabad for Tuesday's violence.

The film, starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, is based on the saga of the 13th Century battle between Maharaja Ratan Singh of Mewar and Sultan Alauddin Khilji of Delhi.

The Supreme Court had last week paved the way for the nationwide release of "Padmaavat", by staying the ban on its screening in Gujarat and Rajasthan.

The movie, which was earlier named "Padmavati" and was slated for a December 1 release, will now hit theatres worldwide tomorrow.
