The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) on Monday declared the results for Classes 10 and 12, with girls once again outshining boys.

Class 10 results recorded a pass percentage of 98.5 per cent, while 96.21 per cent of the students passed Class 12 exam, said Gerry Arathoon, CEO of the Council.

Mumbai's Swayam Das was the Class 10 all-India topper with a score 99.4 per cent. Seven students have topped the Class 12 exam with an identical score of 99.5 per cent, he said.

Earlier, the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) has declared the ICSE Class 10th Result and ISC Class 12 Result today at 3pm on its official website. The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) class 10th were conducted from February 26 to March 28 by the CISCE while the ISC Class 12 examination took place from February 7 till April 2.

"The council will announce the results at 3 PM on May 14. The results will be made available through CAREERS portal, the website of the council and through SMSes," said CISEC Chief Executive and Secretary Gerry Arathoon.

Students are requested to stay calm if the official website crashes due to heavy traffic. Candidates can also check their results on examresults.com or indiaresults.com.

In 2017, 98.53% students passed class 10th examination. From this year, the CISCE has decided to reduce the required pass per cent for board exams. ICSE Class 10th students need 33% to qualify. Earlier, the pass percentages was 35%.

Though initially the council decided to implement it from next year, months later it decided to implement the changes this year onwards.

"The objective of this is to bring about a close conformity with other boards in the country," the council had said.
