An IAS officer, who served as Jaipur district collector in the past, went through a major embarrassment when his female peon was not hospitable while serving his guest from New Delhi with hospitality.

The peon served food and beverages in a cup and plate of different colours, and moreover picked the sugar cubes with her hand instead of using a spoon, creating an unhygienic air in his cosy room at the Secretariat’s office. The senior officer has decided to send the peon to a five-star hotel to learn lessons in hospitality and culinary etiquette under a program proposed by the Rajasthan Skill and Livelihoods Development Corporation (RSLDC).

The corporation has decided to launch a short course of eight days to educate on food-serving manners, hospitality to the peons engaged in all Dak Bungalows and Circuit houses across the state where ministers, IAS and VIPs are given accommodation during their visit.

A year and half back, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje during her stay in Jhalawar did not find the hospitality at the Circuit House at par. The upset chief minister to GAD (general administration department) to train their staffers engaged in serving to get adequate training so that guests could be served well. The direction gave by Raje now turns into a reality as RSLD in collaboration with GAD (General administration department) mooted a plan to train the manpower of Circuit Houses and Dak bungalows.
