An Indian Air Force plane has crashed in Odisha's Maybhanj, news agency ANI reported on Tuesday.

According to a Times of India report, the incident took place on the Odisha-Jharkhand border. The pilot is reportedly injured, the daily added.

The aircraft had taken off from Kalaikunda Air Force station in Kharagpur.

"Today afternoon one Hawk aircraft met with an accident. The aircraft was airborne from Kalaikunda on a routine training sortie. The trainee pilot ejected safely. A CoI will investigate the cause of the accident," Indian Air Force said in a statement.
