I wanted to contest from Andhra Pradesh: Jaya Prada

RLD leader and actor Jaya Prada on Sunday said she was very keen to contest from Andhra Pradesh but failed to get required support from any party in the state. Jaya Prada recently joined RLD along with her mentor Amar Singh and is contesting from Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh.

"I wanted to join Congress or TDP early this year, but nobody supported me," the two-time MP said. Jaya Prada is currently back in Andhra Pradesh campaigning for RLD candidates and her colleague and Congress candidate Jayasudha.

Jaya Prada spent two days in Hyderabad ,Warangal and Nalgonda districts where RLD has fielded 7 to 8 candidates for assembly seats and two for parimanetary seats.

On Saturday people of Warangal town poured out on to the streets to catch a glimpse of their favourite star as Jaya Prada took part in a roadshow in Hanamkonda. She urged people to elect RLD's K Dileep Kumar contesting from Warangal West.

In the Secunderabad assembly segment, she campaigned with Congress candidate and actor Jayasudha. "Jayasudha and I have acted in several films and it is my duty to campaign for her."

Jayaprada also took credit for RLD being a significant partner of UPA government which promoted smaller states and also created Telangana.
