Between 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m., as many as 40 locations in the tech city received rainfall above 23 mm.
Bandlaguda in Uppal mandal of Medchal - Malkajgiri district, which is part of Hyderabad received 102.3 mm rainfall, highest, followed by Saroornagar (93.9 mm), Thatiannaram (91 mm), Pedda Amberpet Hanuman Temple area (89.5 mm) and others.
Saturday's rain damaged Falaknuma bridge in the city which leads to Mehboobnagar, forcing officials to shut that road.
Because of Saturday's rains and the lingering effects of the recent downpour, traffic stalled at several places in the city, compelling many people to look for alternative routes.
Heavy traffic jams was seen at LB, Nagar, Nagole and Dilsukhnagar because of the downpour. There was an 11 km long traffic jam from outer ring road to LB Nagar.
Floodwaters were seen gushing through the roads in Tolichowki and several other locales in the city. Most roads were seen with floodwaters gushing at high speed.
Several low lying areas in Vanasthalipuram and LB Nagar witnessed flooding.
Officials advised people to stay at home as the rain has flooded many parts of the city. In case of danger, people have been advised to call 100.
Meanwhile, the Met department forecast thundershowers at most places in Telangana over the next four days, accompanied by lightning.
The Met office in its forecast for Sunday said light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur in some parts of the city, at times intense spells at one or two places in the city.
Heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places in Telangana districts on Monday.
"Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in south Telangana districts," said a Met official about Tuesday.
Flood-hit families will be identified and handed over the CMs Relief Ration kits at their doorstep as part of measures to ensure normalcy in localities affected by heavy rain and flooding earlier this week, PTI quoted Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao as saying.
Each kit, costing Rs 2,800, contains one month's ration items and three blankets, according to an official release.
Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Mahender Reddy alerted all the policemen to monitoring the situation in their respective jurisdictions, considering the Met department forecasting rains over the next five days.
"Keep monitoring the situation in your areas as flash floods may trap people in low lying areas. Brief your staff to act accordingly and see that no inconvenience is caused to the citizens," said Reddy.
Himayatsagar received heavy inflows from Saturday's rain, prompting authorities to open four gates.
The Disaster Response Force (DRF) personnel of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) were continuously working on the field clearing water stagnations and inundations and all possible measures were being initiated in view of the rainfall, Vishwajit Kampati, Director, Vigilance and Disaster Management of GHMC, said in a tweet.
The state government on October 15 had said that 50 people had lost their lives due to heavy rains and flash floods and the state government had put the losses, as per preliminary estimates, at over Rs 5,000 crore.
