Senior advocate and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader HS Phoolka on Wednesday charged party colleague Yogendra Yadav and his accomplices with being hungry for power.

Phoolka said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is willing to resign from any 'post', as he was not greedy.

"As far as Kejriwal is concerned, there is no issue. He had sent his resignation before and he has sent it even today. He had quit his post as even the Chief Minister and people brought him back. Even when he had earlier resigned, the national executive had rejected it. He doesn't have any liking towards these posts. There are others who are very keen about posts. The national executive will decide today about why these people are trying to destabilize the party," Phoolka said.

When asked who the 'other' people are, he said, "Yogendra Yadav and group." Kejriwal had earlier in the day offered to resign as the party's national convenor hours ahead of the national executive meeting. The AAP is embroiled in an ugly internal strife barely a month after forming a majority government in Delhi.

AAP leaders Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan are likely to be asked to put forth their clarifications in the party's national executive meeting due to take place today. There is unconfirmed speculation that the duo may be eased out of the national executive, which is the AAP's top policy body.

The decision, if carried out, would mean that Bhushan and Yadav would cease to be decision makers in a party that is sure to expand its wings in the country once it cements its foundation in Delhi.

There are reports of a majority of the national executive being in favour of the ouster of the duo, as they feel both have brought a bad name to the AAP by talking about the lack of so-called internal democracy in the party.
