AAP leader Ashutosh takes a dig at Delhi IAS Officers' Association

The IAS Officers' Association on Wednesday passed a resolution saying: "We view with anguish the way IAS officers have been treated and subjected to character assassination, we condemn it."

Delhi IAS Officers’ Association unanimously passed a resolution on Wednesday urging Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to create a conducive atmosphere where officers could function in a free and impartial manner.

“We view with great anguish the way IAS officers have been treated, publicly humiliated and subjected to character assassination in public, we can only condemn it,” Umesh Sehgal, Former Chief Secretary read it out to the media persons.

“We urge the Lieutenant Governor, the Chief Minister and the Home Minister to create a conducive atmosphere where officers can function in a free and impartial manner,” he added.

“Urge Delhi Government to operationalise civil services board to make recommendations on posting and transfers of IAS officers as directed by the Supreme Court,” he further added.

To this, AAP leader, Ashutosh, retaliated on Twitter.

Over 100 serving and retired IAS officials of the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territories) cadre held a nearly two-hour-long meeting in which they expressed "anguish" over the way senior officials are being treated. A number of officials said they were upset with the AAP government as there were attempts to "publicly humiliate" senior bureaucrats.

Acting Chief Secretary Shakuntala Gamlin, Rajendra Kumar, Secretary to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and senior bureaucrats from LG's office were present in the meeting. Around 60 serving and nearly 40 retired IAS officials attended the meeting.
