On February 3, 2021, Zee News first reported about the "toolkit" document shared by Greta Thunberg, the Swedish climate activist and Nobel Peace Prize nominee, who extended her support to the farmers' agitation.

In the "toolkit" document, Thunberg called RSS-BJP a "fascistic ruling party". The document is titled - "#ASKINDIAWHY Global Farmers Strike First Wave Will you be part of the largest protest in Human History?"

The five main points that the document mentioned were:

1) Participate in (or organise an) on-ground protest: Share solidarity Photo/Video Message by email preferably by January  25 (solidarity messages for farmers at Delhi’s border).

2) Digital Strike: #AskIndiaWhy Video/Photo Message - On or Before 26th January.

3) Twitter Storm on February 4,5  2021: Share solidarity Photo/Video Message by preferably by February 5, latest by February 6.

4) Contact a local Representative: It is paramount to put international pressure on India’s Government.

5) Divest from Ambani and Adani: Billionaires Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani manufacture wealth by working hand-in-hand with the Modi Regime to exploit the world’s people, lands and culture.

However, soon after an uproar on social media, the Swedish activist deleted the document from Twitter, the contents of which are here.

Thereafter, the next day, Thunberg shared an updated toolkit to help people show support for the ongoing farmers' protest on Delhi's borders.

The updated toolkit suggested seven ways to back the agitation:

1) Share solidarity Photo/Video Message on social media with hashtags (#FarmersProtest #StandWithFarmers)2) Digital Strike: #AskIndiaWhy Video/Photo Message3) Keep tweeting - Feel free to tag @PMOIndia, @nstomar (Minister of Agriculture & Farmer Welfare), your own heads of state & others who ought to take note, like the IMF, WTO, FAO, World Bank4) Read more about the issue https://ruralindiaonline.org/en/stories/categories/farming-and-its-crisis/5) Physical Actions - Near Indian Embassies, Govt. offices, Media house6) Watch out for (or Join) the Farmers' March / Parade (a first of its kind) into Delhi and back to the borders7) Call/Email any of your govt representatives and ask them to take action, Sign online Petitions and take action to Divest from fossil fuels.

Thunberg, 18, also suggested organising protests near the closest Indian embassy on February 13 and February 14 to express support towards the farmers' agitation.

Thunberg posted the updated toolkit even as the centre on February 4 said: "Before rushing to comment on such matters, we would urge that the facts be ascertained, and a proper understanding of the issues at hand be undertaken. The temptation of sensationalist social media hashtags and comments, especially when resorted to by celebrities and others, is neither accurate nor responsible."

On February 4 itself, the Delhi Police filed an FIR against the creators of the toolkit. A Delhi court on Sunday remanded 21-year-old 'climate activist' Disha Ravi to five days police custody following her arrest in connection with allegedly being involved in sharing a 'toolkit' on social media related to the farmers' protest.

Duty Metropolitan Magistrate Dev Saroha of Patiala House Courts Complex allowed Delhi Police to quiz Disha Ravi for five days.

Ravi is a climate activist residing in Bengaluru and was allegedly involved in editing and disseminating the toolkit on social media.

The activist was presented before a Delhi Court by Delhi Police. The police sought seven days of custody on the ground that the custody is required to probe an alleged larger conspiracy against the Government of India and to ascertain the alleged role relating to Khalistan movement.

A 'toolkit' is a document created to explain any issue. It also provides information on what one needs to do to address the issue. This might include information about petitions, details about protests and mass movements.

The police told the Court that the activist has allegedly edited the toolkit on February 3 and many other people are involved in the matter. The police informed the Court that they have recovered the mobile phone of the activist.

During the hearing, Ravi broke down inside the courtroom and told the judge that she had edited only two lines and that she wanted to support the farmers' protest.

Ravi, who is a graduate of Bachelor of Business Administration from a private college in Bengaluru, is also one of the founding members of a group named 'Fridays For Future India'.
