BJP leader Jay Panda on Tuesday said that he hoped the Supreme Court's decision on government formation in Delhi is able to bring some clarity in the current situation.

"I don't want to make any comments since the decision has to be taken by the court. There are several constitutional things according to which the government should be formed. We can only wait and watch, but I hope the court's decision is able to bring some clarity on the issue," Panda said.

The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing of the case on Delhi Government formation till October 10.

The apex court had earlier asked the Centre to take a decision on holding Delhi Assembly elections following a petition filed by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) asking for the dissolution of the Assembly and fresh polls.

Yesterday, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had said that only Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung can take a decision on the formation of the next government in Delhi.

Reportedly, Jung is likely to invite the BJP to form the government in the national capital.

Delhi has been under President's rule since Arvind Kejriwal resigned as chief minister February 14 after being in office for 49 days.

The BJP won 31 seats in the 70-member house but now has 28 legislators after three were elected to the Lok Sabha in the general elections held in April-May. The AAP also has 28 MLAs representing it.
