BJP Delhi chief Manoj Tiwari on Saturday visited Ankit Saxena's house who was brutally stabbed to death allegedly by his girlfriend's family in a case of honour killing owing to inter-faith relationship.

Manoj Tiwari demanded Rs 1 crore as compensation for Ankit's kin from the AAP government in the capital. Photographer by profession, Ankit was killed in Khyla on February1.

Tiwari after visiting Ankit's kin was quoted as saying, " He didn't go to any girl's house. Communal angle shouldn't be given to organised crime. His family has lost their only earning member & so I want a compensation of Rs 1 cr for them".

So in a way Tiwari's claim adds a new dimension to the murder case. Ankit's mother earlier said that on the busy streets of Delhi's Raghubir Nagar on Thursday her cry for help remained unanswered for almost half an hour as onlookers passed by and even e-rickshaw and auto-drivers refused to rush her injured son to the hospital. Ankit was allegedly stabbed to death by his girlfriend's family in front of his parents as mother-father duo begged for his life on Thursday. His mother was also beaten up when she tried to intervene.

“There were dozens of people watching my son get beaten up, but none of them dared to save him. My son was a body builder himself, but he was helpless when the killers caught and killed him. The sight of the woman’s father wielding a big kukri knife must have scared others,” the mother was quoted as saying.

“My husband and I kept begging people to arrange a vehicle to rush my son to a hospital, but no one helped. E-rickshaw and auto drivers would stop, take a look and leave,” she added.

The victim's mother Kamlesh appalled by the apathy of the onlookers said she tried to stop the blood spilling from her son's neck and mouth with her hands as both she and her husband cried for help. After a long battle for help, an e-rickshaw driver finally agreed to help and they rushed him to nearby Guru Gobind Singh Hospital, however, her son, who was the sole earner of the family, died in her arms.

The victim, a photographer, was on his way to meet the woman identified as Shehzadi when her family caught sight of him. Shezadi's family was against their relationship and they feared their daughter would elope with Ankit.

According to the reports, they forced her to marry another man and was dead against her relationship with Ankit. Ankit and Shehzadi met when they were neighbours but her family shifted to a different location after they got to know of the relationship.

"We were supposed to get married," said Shehzadi. "I was going to meet him when I heard he had been attacked by my family with a knife."

The police have arrested the woman's father, maternal uncle, and minor brother.
