Breathalyzer tests are being conducted across national capital New Delhi and adjoining areas by the city police on drivers out on the streets celebrating the festival of colours -- Holi.

Police in the Laxmi Nagar, Prithivaraj Road and Vasant Vihar areas of the city said that the breathalyzer tests were being carried out to prevent drivers from driving their vehicles when in an intoxicated state. Drunken driving in the national capital invites police and legal action under Section 203 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Civil Procedure Code (CPC).
