BJP ally HJC today said that it cannot give more than 45 seats to it and asked the Saffron party to make its stand clear by tomorrow regarding their coalition ahead of the elections to the 90-member Haryana assembly.

"According to the 2011 coalition pact with BJP, we can give only 45 seats to it. BJP should make its stand clear by Wednesday as not much time is left for the elections," Haryana Janhit Congress chief Kuldeep Bishnoi told reporters here. Bishnoi claimed that he had asked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah to discuss the coalition and political situation in Haryana, a number of times but he was not given any time. The relations between BJP and HJC are under strain over Bishnoi's insistence on projecting him as chief ministerial candidate of the proposed alliance, which BJP disfavours.
Bishnoi has also announced some of his candidates without consulting the alliance partner.
