This is happening for the first time that India is welcoming 10 chief guests for the celebrations of the 69th Republic day in the national capital New Delhi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had invited the leaders of all 10 members of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
In an unprecedented event, all the 10 ASEAN leaders will also be the chief guests at the Republic Day parade.

External affairs ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar posted a series of tweets on the arrival of these leaders.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN, was established on 8 August 1967 in Bangkok, Thailand, with the signing of the ASEAN Declaration (Bangkok Declaration) by the Founding Fathers of ASEAN, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
Brunei Darussalam then joined on 7 January 1984, VietNam on 28 July 1995, Lao PDR and Myanmar on 23 July 1997, and Cambodia on 30 April 1999, making up what is today the ten Member States of ASEAN.
Now the leaders that have arrived in India are:
1. Prime Minister of Vietnam, Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Madame Tran Nguyen
The seventh Prime Minister of Vietnam, Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Madame Tran Nguyen were arrived on the eve of Republic Day and was welcomed by the Ministers of State for Human Resource Development, Satyapal Singh.
2. Aung San Suu Kyi, Myanmar
Aung San Suu Kyi from Myanmar is the leader of the National League for Democracy and the first and incumbent State Counsellor, a position akin to a Prime Minister.
She is also a winner of a Nobel Peace Prize. Aung San Suu Kyi was landed in new Delhi on January 25 and was received by Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Anupriya Patel.
3. Thailand prime minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha and his wife Naraporn Chan-o-cha
The President of Thailand arrived with his wife and were warmly welcomed by Minister of State for External Affairs VK Singh, MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar took to Twitter to inform.

4. President of Philippines Rodrigo Duterte
Rodrigo "Rody" Roa Duterte also known as Digong,is a Filipino lawyer and politician who is the 16th and current President of the Philippines. At 71 years old, Duterte is the oldest person to assume the Philippine presidency

5. Singaporean Prime Minister: Lee Hsien Loong
Lee Hsien Loong (is a Singaporean statesman serving as the third and current Prime Minister of Singapore since 2004. He arrived in New Delhi on January 25 with his other counterparts.

6. Haji Mohammad Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, Malaysia's Prime Minister
Haji Mohammad Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak is the sixth Prime Minister of Malaysia.
7. Brunei Darussalam's Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah
Hassanal Bolkiah, is the 29th and current Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei. He is also the first and incumbent Prime Minister of Brunei.
8. Hun Sen, Prime Minister, Cambodia
Hun Sen is the Prime Minister of Cambodia, President of the Cambodian People's Party, and Member of Parliament for Kandal.
9. Indonesian president Joko Widodo
Joko Widodo, also known as Jokowi, is the seventh and current President of Indonesia, and has arrived in India to join the republic day celebrations on Thursday.

10. Lao PDR's Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith
Thongloun Sisoulith is a Laotian politician who has been Prime Minister of Laos since 2016.
