Anuj Loya, son of late Justice BH Loya, in a short-notice press conference at Nariman Point on Sunday, said that the he and his family had no doubts about his father's death. The 21-year-old also said that the family should not be harassed as it had gone through a lot of turmoil.

"Due to what is going on in the media, my family is having a lot of problems. We are not alleging anything. We are really pained and trying to get out of this thing. I request you people to not try to harass or trouble us," he said.

He was flanked by his lawyer Ameet Naik, family friend Justice KB Kathke and relative Pratik Bhandari. Questions were also put to him about his grandfather and aunt coming on record saying that they had suspicions.

When asked about his earlier letter published in various newspapers, he said, "As I said, that time was emotional but now we are clear," said Anuj.

Of his aunt and grandfather's statements, Anuj said, "They had some suspicion then, not now. I do not have any suspicion. I was 17," he said.

Bhandari said, "His grandfather is 85 years old. What will happen if you keep asking him about his son's death?"

"Many people some NGOs, lawyers and politicians are trying to harass the family members," said Katke. "Two senior judges were with Mr Loya when he complained of pain in the chest. He was taken to the hospital at night and doctors made every effort. However, he could not survive. Some other people created doubts and are harassing the family."

"There is no need to politicise the issue," said Ameet Naik.
