Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu today congratulated the people of Haryana for their support to BJP in the assembly elections and said the state would get its Chief Minister on Tuesday. "Haryana people have given full support to BJP. It is for the first time in BJP history that Haryana people have given mandate to BJP to form government. I want to congratulate Haryana people for this," Naidu said on the sideline of a function here.

When asked about who will be the Chief Minister of Haryana, Naidu said the selection of legislative party leader will be declared on Tuesday. "I am going to Chandigarh tomorrow as party president has given me responsibility as an observer to complete the process of selecting the leader of the Haryana legislative party," he said. BJP, which has won just four seats in the last assembly elections, made history this time with bagging 47 seats in the 90-member House.

The newly elected MLAs would meet tomorrow to select their leader. "After the leader of Haryana legislative party is chosen, we would submit a letter to the Governor requesting him to call the party to form government in the state," he said, adding "this will be for the good of the state."
