Haryana Polls: Bhupinder Singh Hooda promises to pay interest for farmers loan

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday assured to relieve the farmers of Haryana from the burden of interest on loans taken by them. "I am a farmer's son, and I have decided that all the amount of loans will be paid by the farmers but the interest will be paid by the Haryana Government," said Hooda while addressing a rally in Haryana's Shahzadpur district.

He added that the Haryana Government gives the highest rate for sugarcane. Criticizing the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA Government at the Centre over increase in the prices of basic commodities, Hooda mocked at their Lok Sabha poll slogan of 'acche din' (good days ahead). "They say 'acche din aayenge' but they never narrowed down a date when those 'acche din' will come," he said.

"After promising 'acche din', the BJP came to power and then they said 'bitter medicine will have to be drunk'. What is the rate of tomatoes, potatoes, onions? This is your bitter medicine," he added. Hooda also addressed a rally in Ambala earlier in the day where he blamed the BJP for misleading the people during the Lok Sabha elections by purposely creating an environment that only Prime Minister Narendra Modi can solve all their problems. The election for the 90-member Haryana Assembly is scheduled to be held on October 15 while the results will be counted on October 19.
