Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar left the family of Lt. Kiran Shekhawat, the woman Nave officer who died in a Dornier crash off the coast of Goa on March 24, waiting for his planned visit to pay his condolences. The incident was repeated again on Friday on the eleventh-day ceremony to mark her death.

Both the times, the family of the fallen and district administration of Nuh, waited in vain as CM did a no show.

Father-in-law of officer Shekhawat, Shrichand Chhoker, said that upon calling CM's residence, an official rudely asked him whether a visit from CM will mean a successful sacrifice of his daughter? Chhoker told Indian Express.

Chhoker's son, Vivek, also a Naval Officer, was married to Lt Kiran Shekhawat. Chhoker family amidst preparing for the ceremony had arranged for a special tent for CM Khattar. Now the family does not want him to visit.

On the other hand, reports said that CMO of Haryana said that cancellation was due to 'political compulsions'. But they will call the family and go again.

Lt Kiran Shekhawat was a nobserver on board Dornier when it crashed off the coast of Goa. Her body and that of the co-pilot Lt Abhinav Nagori were later recovered. Pilot Commander Nikhil Joshi was rescued by fishermen.

The family of Lt Shekhawat has been receiving VIP visitors including Union Minister of State for Defence Rao Inderjit Singh, former Haryana CM, Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

Lt Shekhawat was cremated with full military honours on March 30 in her village.
