The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday spoke about the vandalising of an under construction church by miscreants in Hisar, and said any religious place of worship cannot be treated as an object where public frustration can be taken out or voiced. "Any religious place of worship cannot be treated as an object that people can take out their frustration, anger and vandalisms against. It is in incorrect," said Nalin Kohli, BJP spokesperson.

Kohli asserted that we have to respect everyone's feeling, their adherence to any religion and their place of worship. "I have been told that the Haryana Government has already taken action or caught those who have been involved in this act." he added.

Earlier on Sunday, an under-construction church was demolished in a village in Hisar. Those responsible for the attack even hoisted a flag with "Shri Ram" written on it at the demolition site in Kaimri village. Reports said villagers were angry over alleged efforts by a priest to convert some locals to Christianity.

The reports further said that police have registered a case against 14 people named by the priest and started investigation into the matter. So far, no arrests have been made.
