Haryana: 16-year-old girl raped by youth

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth known to her, police said in Hisar on Wednesday. The alleged incident happened on Tuesday, they said adding a case had been registerd but the youth was yet to be arrested.

The youth, who was known to the girl, a student of a coaching centre, lured her to a hotel located near Parijat Chowk and allegedly raped her, police said. The girl narrated the incident to her family who approached the police.

In her complaint to police, the girl alleged the youth, hailing from Panchkula, threatened her if she reported the incident to anyone. After the victim's medical examination, a case under section 376 (rape) of the IPC was registered, police said.
