Priyanka Gandhi addressed a rally at Rae Bareily today and addressed criticisms against her husband Robert Vadra and the Gandhi family has been facing. She said, "The more they insult my family, the stronger we emerge."
She further added, "Our family has a special bond with Rae Bareli." As the Lok Sabha elections intensify, the Gandhi family has been campaigning in the polling states.
Her brother Rahul Gandhi will be contesting from the Rae Bareily seat, against AAP member Kumar Vishwas and BJP's Smriti Irani. Priyanka said, "The Gandhi family has a special bond with Rae Bareli." According to political experts, the battle has intensified but Congress has an edge over new arrivals due to its traditional history with the seat.
Remembering her grandmother Indira Gandhi, she further added, "Lot of harsh words are used for my family, my husband, it's sad. But I have learnt from Indira ji how to bear all this".
On Robert Vadra controversy, she said, "My husband is being insulted and I'm very hurt. They have targeted my family for the many years.They have used my husband for political attacks."
Further talking about her mother's lineage, she said, "My mother wasn't born here, but you'll accepted her. That's the beauty of this country. Don't vote for Sonia Gandhi, vote for your children and a country where people love each other."
In a direct challenge to her critics, Priyanka shot back and said, "Target me as much as you want, I will strike back."
