Ved Pratap Vaidik, the Indian journalist who met Hafiz Saeed, mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack and chief of Jamat-ud-Dawah in Pakistan, has said that Saeed told him he would have no issues with India's Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi visiting Pakistan. "Pakistan will welcome him if he comes," he said in an interview with a news channel.

Saeed also claimed that he was not involved in any terror attack and that his organisation had been declared a terror group by America due to pressure by India, Vedik said. Saeed also asked about Narendra Modi's wife, Vaidik added.

“During my visit to Pakistan, I met Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and some other ministers, apart from Hafiz Saeed who stays in a populated area of Lahore with a tight security cover. I met him in a small room, where he expressed his wish to visit Mumbai and Delhi,” Vaidik said.

Meanwhile, the uproar in the Rajya Sabha over the issue continued for the second consecutive day on Tuesday, disturbing proceedings and leading to two adjournments during Question Hour. Severely criticising Vaidik, members from the Congress, SP and BSP also attacked the Modi government, although the government clarified that it had nothing to do with it.

Hafiz Saeed had on Monday criticised Indian politicians and called them narrow-minded on the micro-blogging site Twitter.
