Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's 'adopted daughter' Honeypreet Insan sent to three-day police remand

Panchkula court on Tuesday sent Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim's 'adopted daughter' Honeypreet Insan to 3-day police custody. 

Honeypreet, whose real name is Priyanka Taneja, was arrested by the Haryana Police on October 3 in connection with the deadly violence that had claimed 35 lives. Honeypreet, in her mid-30s, has been the closest aide of Ram Rahim for nearly a decade.

Vipassana Insan who is Chairperson of Dera Sacha Sauda did not turn up before Panchkula police on Tuesday, citing medical grounds. According to reports, police officers are verifying Vipassana's claim. 

Honeypreet was arrested from Zirakpur-Patiala road. The arrest came hours after Honeypreet appeared on two private television channels interacting with the reporters at some undisclosed location, even as the Haryana police had been looking for her for more than a month.
