Rape convict Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is now qaidi no. 8647 at Rohtak's Sunairia Jail.

The Dera Sacha Sauda chief, who was convicted for raping two of his female followers at the Dera's Sirsa Headquarters, will now spend next two decades of his life in this jail.

The multi-million 'Bling Baba' is now among ordinary prisoners doing task assigned to him.

After initial reluctance, Ram Rahim was 'counselled' by the jail officials to take up some job.

According to media reports, he was given option of either working in jail factories or working as jail gardener.

It is understood that Gurmeet Ram Rahim will now work as a gardener in the jail for which he will be paid a daily wage of Rs 40.

Interestingly, the Dera's official website claims that the on August 15, 2009, the Gurmeet Ram Rahim followers created a Guiness Record of planting more than 9,38,007 trees in just one hour.

The sect leader who once claimed that he had over 5 crore followers now spends most of the time in his cell.

A BBC report said that he has not met many jail inmates and likes to keep to himself.

Gurmeet Ram Rahim has mellowed down after the initial drama that was witnessed during his sentencing.

At that time, he had howled like a child and was dragged away by the security officials to the jail barracks.

On that night, he didn't have any food. Some reports suggest he had a just glass of milk or water.

The court while pronouncing the verdict had said that Gurmeet Ram Rahim had acted like a 'wild beast' and didn't even spare his own female disciples.
