Gurgaon: 4 Shiv Sainiks arrested for disrupting play by Pakistan artists

The incident comes days after the Shiv Sena forced cancellation of ghazal singer Ghulam Ali's musical performance in Mumbai as part of their campaign against personalities from the neighbouring country.

Four alleged Shiv Sena activists were on Sunday arrested for disrupting a drama staged by some Pakistani actors in Gurgaon. Acting on a complaint by Municipal Corporation PRO Satbir Rohilla, Gurgaon police registered an FIR against the four persons belonging to Shiv Sena, police spokesperson said.

All the four accused persons, identified as Ajay, Gautam, Sumit and Jitu, have been arrested by the police, the spokesperson said. Around 5-6 young men claiming to be Shiv Sainiks yesterday climbed atop the stage at an open air theatre in Gurgaon, on Delhi's outskirts, where a group of seven Pakistani actors were staging a play "Banjh" (infertile). "They shouted slogans like 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and 'Pakistan Murdabad' and disrupted the show for about 5-10 minutes," Rohilla had said. The incident comes days after the Shiv Sena forced cancellation of ghazal singer Ghulam Ali's musical performance in Mumbai as part of their campaign against personalities from the neighbouring country.

The Sena works had also recently blackened the face of former BJP leader Sudheendra Kulkarni in Mumbai when he refused to cancel the book launch of former Pakistani Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri in Mumbai.
