Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday said that the timing and methodology of the Gurdaspur terror attack was "eerily similar" to the past incidents in Jammu region.
In a series of tweets, Omar wrote, "will be very interested to see what emerges about the identity of the terrorists involved in the Gurdaspur attack this morning. The timing of the attack, methodology & location are all eerily similar to attacks in the border belt of Jammu."

Omar lauded the decision to rush a SWAT team from Jammu and Kashmir to assist the local cops in dealing with the situation in Gurdaspur.

Talking to reporters here, the former Chief Minister said while maintaining security along the borders was the Centre's responsibility, the chief ministers of Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab should also coordinate with each other on these issues.
