"Let us fight this election with all our strength. Remember that God is with us, so there is no reason to worry. You all are witness to the fact that how Gujarat received rain when we have lost hopes during this monsoon," she said.

"Though Narendra Modi is in Delhi, Gujarat always remains in his mind. Always remember that we have made a promise to him that Gujarat will never weaken in his absence. And I am confident that BJP will get absolute victory in this local body polls," the Chief Minister said.

While the municipal corporations of Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Jamnagar and Bhavnagar would go to polls on November 22, the voting for 31 district panchayats, 230 taluka panchayats and 56 municipalities will take place on November 29. Patel also admitted that it will be very tough for the party to handle all these elections taking place in quick succession.

"As the elections on various local bodies are taking place at once, it will prove to be a test for us. Earlier, we used to first conduct elections on municipal corporations, and then on municipalities, district and taluka panchayats" said Patel, who blamed Congress for this situation.

"On the issue of four candidates-per-ward system, Congress went to High Court and then to Supreme Court. Due to such negative approach of Congress, we are facing this situation.
But, BJP workers are ready to face any challenge" she added.
