With elections less than a week away, poll campaigning is set to pick up. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will spend two days in the state beginning tomorrow seeking to woo voters ahead of the crucial polls, while Congress vice-president will be in the state from December 5 to 7. On Sunday, Modi, BJP’s star campaigner and de facto face for the Gujarat polls, is scheduled to address election rallies in Bharuch, Surendranagar and Rajkot. He is also slated to inaugurate the SGVP Hospital in Ahmedabad during the day.

BJP sources said that the next day, Modi is slated to address poll rallies in Valsad, Bhavnagar, Junagadh and Jamnagar.

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who has campaigned extensively in the state over the past month or so, will be back again to Gujarat on December 5, a day after his expected coronation as the party president. According to party officials, Gandhi is scheduled to campaign in Kutch, Morbi and Surendranagar, holding corner meetings and addressing public meetings in a bid to boost his party’s chances in the elections. The next day he is slated to cover Tapi, Surat and Narmada districts, and parts of central Gujarat on December 7. Incidentally, campaigning for the first phase of polls.
