Today is the last day of campaign for the Gujarat elections. And in the heat and dust of election, we have seen several political leaders making rather outrageous statements. But as they say the best (or rather the worst) was saved for the last. Prominent OBC leader and Congress candidate Alpesh Thakor on Tuesday levelled a bizarre allegation against PM Modi. He said that PM's complexion has turned fair after eating mushrooms imported from Taiwan, each of which cost Rs 80,000.

"Someone told me that you can't eat what Modi ji eats, because it's not a food for the poor," Thakor said during an election rally. He further said, "  "One mushroom costs Rs 80,000, and he eats five mushrooms a day. That is why I wonder how he turned so fair. He was as dark as me," Thakor added.

"The Prime Minister who eats mushrooms worth Rs 1.20 crore in a month, you can imagine how many crores of money his workers must be eating up," said the OBC leader.

But soon mushroom started to trend on Twitter and people started making jokes about Thakor.
