Continuing his campaign blitzkrieg in his home state, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed a poll rally in Gujarat's Palanpur, which will go to poll on December 14.

Though bad throat forced him to cut short his speech, yet the Prime Minister left no stone unturned to slam his political detractors.

After the blistering attack on now-suspended Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar in Banaskantha, PM Modi took dig at the senior politician for his 'secret meeting' in Pakistan.

Aiyar has been on BJP's target ever since he sparked a political uproar with his 'neech' remark against the Prime Minister.

Addressing a poll rally, the prime minister also raised questions over the alleged appeal by former director general of the Pakistan Army, Sardar Arshad Rafiq, that senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel be made chief minister of Gujarat.

Modi said (former Congress minister) Mani Shankar Aiyar had called him "neech" (vile) a day after the alleged meeting of Pakistani leaders with top Congressmen.

"There were media reports yesterday about a meeting at Mani Shankar Aiyar's house. It was attended by Pakistan's high commissioner, Pakistan's former foreign minister, India's former vice president and former prime minister Manmohan Singh," Modi said.

The meeting at Aiyar's house carried on for almost three hours, Modi said.

"The next day, Mani Shankar Aiyar said Modi was 'neech'. This is a serious matter," he said.

Modi added that Rafiq had backed Ahmed Patel as the next chief minister of Gujarat.

"(On one side) Pakistan Army's former DG is interfering in Gujarat's election, on the other side, Pakistan's people are holding a meeting at Mani Shankar Aiyar's house," he said.

"And, after that meeting, people of Gujarat, backward communities, poor people and Modi were insulted. Don't you think such events raise doubts," Modi asked.

He also attacked Ahmed Patel, a senior Congress leader and big name in Gujarat politics.

Known to be a confidant of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Patel was slammed for his apparent Pak links.

In a covert remark without saying much, Pm Modi asked, “Why are people who previously held high posts in military-intelligence establishment of Pak writing that we should help make Ahmed Patel the CM.”

It should be noted that Patel was in news recently for his alleged 'links' with an ISIS man.

The Rajya Sabha member was targeted after the Gujarat ATS arrested two suspected ISIS men, of which one was a lab technician at a hospital where Patel was a trustee.
