After a mid-morning scare, it seems the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to form a government in the state of Gujarat for the sixth time. The party may be slightly shaken by the fact that these elections have been more uncomfortable than it may have expected - with Congress making significant gains from the 61 seats it won in 2012 and run the BJP close.

But Union Minister Smriti Irani said, " Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar." On Monday, I&B Minister hailed BJP's win, "It's a matter of happiness for us, this is the victory of development."

She continued, "Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. It is a victory of every booth worker's hard work and the people who trusted development."

BJP MP Madhya Pradesh unit president Nandkumar Singh Chauhan said the workers are excited by the increase in the party in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh assembly elections. "Anti-incumbency is not working there. The prime minister's popularity is intact. Amit Shah's strategy has worked," BJP vice president Shyam Jaju said.

BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya also said, "There is nothing to worry. We will form government in Gujarat with comfortable majority."
