Ahead of the upcoming Gujarat assembly elections, BJP on Friday released its manifesto or 'sankalp patra'.

The cover of the BJP's vision document has Prime Minister Narendra Modi's picture along with chief Amit Shah and a slogan that reads "Darek Gujarati no ekaj aavaj; hun chu vikaas, hun chu Gujarat (Each Gujarati speaks in a single voice; I am development, I am Gujarat)." Jaitley also said that the release does not violate any 'Model Code of Conduct' as it does not carry any image of contesting candidates.

Upon its release, BJP said they will ensure every district in Gujarat will have a medical college.

While releasing the document, Jaitley attacked Congress, saying they were making fictitious statements.

"Congress's vision for Gujarat is based on constitutional impossibility and financial improbability," Jaitley said.

"Gujarat’s GSDP growth is highest in India. In the last 5 years Gujarat grew at an average rate of 10% amongst large states," Jaitley said.

The releases comes a day before the first phase of polling and at a time when Congress has criticised BJP for delaying its release.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi said delaying the release of manifesto is an "insult" to the people, while, Hardik Patel said BJP delayed its release as they were too busy "making CDs".

While earlier on Thursday, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi: "The BJP has shown unbelievable disrespect towards the people of Gujarat. Campaign is over and STILL no mention of a manifesto for the people, no vision and no ideas presented for Gujarat’s future. #BJPDisrespectsGujarat"

Gujarat will see its first phase of polling on December 9 and the next on December 14.
