The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams completed the rescue operation of the building collapse in Shahberi village of Bisrakh area in Greater Noida on Friday evening. However, no new bodies were found from the debris keeping the death toll at nine. Police also failed to make any news arrests in the case. 9 bodies were removed from the debris, including 6 men, 2 women and a child.

According to a senior NDRF official, the personnel were continuously working since the day of the incident and finally at around 4.30 pm on Friday, they cleared the debris.

"There was a little rain this morning but the team continued to work. It was a joint operation and the administration helped us a lot. We have cleared the debris and no more bodies were recovered. It took us around 65 hours as the collapse of two buildings was very complicated as one building had tilted on the other, which made the rescue operations difficult," said a senior NDRF official.

NDRF had deployed heavy machines to clear the rubble but were moving cautiously to avoid harming anyone trapped under the debris.

According to the administration, a team of 100 people of SDRF has been posted on the spot. The SDRF team will move out after investigation in over, said a senior administration official.

More than 200 people from NDRF were involved in rescue operations. During this time, relief and rescue work was done by 3 doctors, 21 subordinate officers, 170 jawans, 8 dogs, 16 vehicles and about 100 CSSs (Collapse structure search and rescue) equipment.

"We have formed teams and so far 5 people have been arrested while others named in the FIR are on a run. We have formed teams to nab them," said Ajay Pal Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police( Gautam Budh Nagar).
On Tuesday, a six-floor under-construction building crashed on another six-storey building next to it, bringing it down as well.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath had ordered a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each for the next of kin of those dead and Rs 50,000 each to those injured.

Amongst 24 people named in the FIR, police have only arrested five people, including the landowner for culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
