Greater Noida: 13-year-old boy lured 3-year-old neighbour to rape her, killed her when he failed

A 13-year-old boy was arrested on Friday near Delhi for allegedly abducting and killing a three-year-old girl whose body was found two days ago. The juvenile is the minor victim’s neighbour.

The boy killed the young girl after he failed to rape her, police said. The girl's body was found near a temple in Bisrakh area of Greater Noida on Wednesday. 

Akhilesh Tripathi, station house officer, Bisrakh police station, said the boy was nabbed after a CCTV footage showed him luring the victim to a secluded spot outside the village.

"We apprehended the boy on Friday morning and interrogated him after which he confessed to the crime,” Tripathi was quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times.  

The accused abducted the victim when there was a power outage in the village, Tripathi said. 

"He took her to a secluded spot and attempted to rape her. When she resisted, he strangulated her and then dumped her body near a temple,” the officer said.

The girl's body was discovered by villagers on Wednesday morning. She had injury marks on her neck and one of her foot half-eaten by an animal.

The girl’s father said that she had gone missing around 8 pm on Tuesday when she was playing near the gate of the house.

The victim’s father had earlier named one of his relatives as an accused. 

The accused juvenile lured the victim to rape her after he got ‘excited’ watching a porn video on his uncle’s mobile phone, police said. 

Tripathi said that the minor accused has been sent to a juvenile shelter home for now.
